About Enggano Island

Enggano Island is located 100km off the south west coast of Sumatra. The closest port mainland is Bengkulu. Enggano is a sub district of the north Bengkulu province.


Enggano Island has 3 towns and 6 villages and a population of approximately 2000 people. The island is home to a wide diversity of wildlife and especially bird life. There are surf locations scattered around the island for those that want to take a surf safari or dive trip to Enggano Island.

Enggano Island was first discovered in the late 1500’s but was not visited until the 1700’s.
